Douglas Sacks appointed to Why Marketing's Advisory Board

Why Marketing announced that Douglas Sacks was appointed to its Advisory Board in 1Q 2007.
Professor Sacks has worked on-site on five continents assisting both U.S. and foreign multi-national companies, non-profit organizations and government agencies establish operations and develop and implement direct marketing, database marketing and e-business campaigns.
He is a past Chair of the U.S. DMA International Council's Operating Committee (OPCOM) 2001-2003, and the former Editor of its newsletter, the Hot Press.
He is the author of more than twenty articles on international marketing and data privacy legislation, a frequent speaker at marketing events both in the U.S. and abroad, and on the faculty of New York University (Adjunct Asst. Professor of Marketing) teaching in the “Master of Science in Direct and Interactive Marketing” program. In 2001, NYU presented him with its Award for Teaching Excellence in the School for Continuing and Professional Studies.
Professor Sacks works with the Center for University-Based Enterprise & Development (CUBED), a venture development hub based in the University of New Haven , where he chairs Market Enablement initiatives to accelerate early-stage ventures using interactive marketing, social networking and other business 2.0 tools.

Robert Yarbray passes International Council gavel at DMA Annual

In his closing address, Robert thanked the Operating Committee for all their hard work, effort and support during his tenure which resulted in a tripling of membership with an almost doubling of membership offerings.
Erik Enroth to act as Senior Advisor to Why Marketing

Why Marketing announced today that Erik Enroth who recently retired as Executive Director of Invest in Sweden Agency (ISA), North America has joined the company as a Senior Advisor.
Prior to joining ISA in September 2001, Enroth held the post of general manager at ABB Automation Inc ., a division of ABB Asea Brown Boveri Ltd. in North Brunswick , N.J.
Enroth has more than thirty years of international business experience. Trained as a mechanical engineer, he joined ABB's forerunner, ASEA, as a research and development engineer in Sweden in 1971. In 1984, Enroth moved to the United States and assumed responsibility for ASEA Pressure Systems in Columbus , Ohio . After ASEA merged with BBC Brown Boveri Ltd of Baden , Switzerland in 1988, Enroth served as president and CEO of ABB Metallurgy Inc., a division of ABB Industrial Systems Inc., and managed a $50 million business which supplied heavy machinery to the foundry, steel, automotive , and aircraft industries.
Enroth holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Technology in Helsinki , Finland , a master's of industrial engineering and operations research from the University of California at Berkeley , and a master's of business administration from the University of Uppsala, Sweden. He is fluent in English, Swedish, German and Finnish.
